ABOUT EAGLE LAKE REGIONAL AIRPORT
Eagle Lake Regional Airport (ELA) is a thriving general aviation airport owned and operated by the City of Eagle Lake, Texas. The airfield features a single 4,280-foot by 60-foot runway that is capable of accommodating a wide range of general aviation aircraft, from smaller piston-powered aircraft up to small-sized business jets. Several types of general aviation activities take place at ELA, including recreational flying, flight training, and agricultural spraying. In addition, the airport serves as an important economic engine for the City of Eagle Lake, offering significant benefits to the community and region.
The City of Eagle Lake is undertaking an update to the airport layout plan (ALP) to chart the course for the airport’s continued success. This planning study will serve as a proactive document that will identify and then plan for future facility needs, ensuring the city can coordinate project approvals, design, financing, and construction when the need arises. The primary goal is to properly plan for timely development of the airport to ensure its continued viability from a functional, social, and environmental perspective.
